DriveFive helps you organise vehicle records. You remain in control of your information and should review recordings, keep backups and use the app only when it is safe. Nothing in these terms removes rights that the law does not allow you to waive.
1. Who provides DriveFive
#The DriveFive app, website and user guide are provided by DriveFive, based in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. In these terms, “DriveFive”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to DriveFive. Contact hellodrivefive@gmail.com with questions about the app, website or these terms.
These terms cover the DriveFive Android vehicle-record app and this website, including the user guide. They do not describe a separate subscription web service or services operated by other providers.
2. Agreement and eligibility
#These terms apply when you expressly agree to them, or use the relevant service after receiving reasonable notice of these terms in circumstances that establish agreement under applicable law. They do not apply retroactively to earlier use. If you do not agree, do not begin or continue the use for which agreement is requested.
You must have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement. If you have not reached the age of majority where you live, involve a parent or legal guardian before using DriveFive; parental involvement does not override any legal protections for minors. If you use DriveFive on behalf of a business or another person, you must have authority to do so and to handle the information involved.
The Privacy policy explains information handling. Agreement to these terms is not blanket consent to optional location tracking, receipt scanning or other data uses. Those features retain their own choices and permission requirements.
3. Your licence and the current free app
#Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on compatible Android devices you own or are authorised to use, and to use the website and guide for your personal or internal business vehicle records. You may export, print and share your own records and reports.
DriveFive is currently free to use and does not require a DriveFive account. These terms do not enrol you in a subscription or authorise a charge. Your device, mobile data, NFC tags and any third-party services may have their own costs. Any future paid offering would require separate price information and your agreement before a charge.
App code, branding and website materials belong to the publisher or their respective licensors. You keep your rights in the information and documents you enter. Except as permitted by applicable law or an applicable third-party licence, do not copy, sell or redistribute the app or brand materials, remove proprietary notices, or misrepresent DriveFive as your own product. Rights under open-source licences remain in place.
4. Safe use comes first
#Set up, review and operate DriveFive only while safely and legally parked. Do not handle the phone, enter records, read messages or scan an NFC tag while driving. A stop in traffic is not an invitation to use the app. Follow the distracted-driving and road-safety rules wherever you drive.
DriveFive is a recordkeeping tool. Its speed, location and tracking status are not a substitute for your vehicle instruments, navigation, emergency services or attention to the road. Automatic recording does not make it safe to interact with the app while driving.
5. Tracking and record accuracy
#GPS distance, speed, addresses, fuel efficiency, costs, forecasts and receipt-scan suggestions depend on the information entered, device sensors, permissions and available services. GPS reception, battery settings, operating-system restrictions, interruptions and Android Auto connection reporting can cause delays, missing trips or incomplete records. NFC assignments and automatic-start settings must be checked for the correct vehicle and category.
Review each trip, odometer reading, receipt suggestion and export before relying on it. Correct errors using the available controls and keep original documents where needed. DriveFive does not promise to capture every journey, identify the correct vehicle automatically or provide uninterrupted or error-free results.
Record only information you are entitled to use. Do not track another person without the permissions and notices required by applicable law, fabricate receipts or service records, or use DriveFive to mislead another person.
6. Tax, business and maintenance decisions
#DriveFive does not provide legal, tax, accounting, insurance, mechanical or professional advice. A trip category, cost calculation, reminder or report does not establish eligibility for a tax deduction, reimbursement, insurance claim or warranty claim, or guarantee acceptance by the Canada Revenue Agency, an employer or another organisation.
You are responsible for checking the recordkeeping and retention rules that apply to you and for retaining any required supporting evidence. Follow the vehicle manufacturer's service schedule and qualified professional advice. App reminders and forecasts do not replace inspections or confirm that a vehicle is safe to operate.
7. Local records, backups and deletion
#Your working garage is stored on your device. DriveFive does not provide a developer-operated cloud recovery account. Device loss, damage, storage problems, uninstalling the app, clearing its data, cleanup or restoring a backup can remove or replace records.
Make regular backups to a suitable separate destination, verify that they can be read, and check any cloud provider's upload status. Backup ZIP files are not encrypted by DriveFive; protect them and the places where you save them. A backup kept only on the same phone does not protect against losing that phone.
Review deletion and restore confirmations carefully. Deleting an app record does not recall reports, backups or files already shared with another person or service. These responsibilities do not remove any rights or remedies you have under applicable law. See the backup guide and Privacy policy.
8. Vehicle histories and sharing
#A DriveFive vehicle-history report is an owner-maintained record, not an independent inspection, certification, verified accident history, title search or guarantee of vehicle condition or value. It contains the records available for the selected vehicle and the details you choose to include. A receipt label means a document is attached; it does not verify that work was performed.
Check the complete report before sharing, saving or printing. Selected attachments may include every page of an original PDF and personal information that is not automatically redacted. Share only information and documents you are authorised to disclose, and obtain any required consent.
Do not present a report as complete or independently verified when it is not. Buyers should make their own inquiries and obtain appropriate inspections. Once you share a copy, its recipient and destination control that copy; DriveFive cannot recall it. See the vehicle-history guide.
9. Third-party services and permissions
#Android, Google Play, Google ML Kit, optional Photon address lookup, map apps, camera apps, document providers, browsers and sharing destinations are supplied by other organisations. Their own terms and privacy practices apply to their services. Availability and compatibility can change, and enabling a feature may require permissions or a model download.
External links are provided for convenience. They do not make DriveFive responsible for a third party's content, products or performance. This does not exclude responsibility that applicable law places on us. The Privacy policy describes the app's current optional transfers and controls.
10. Acceptable use
#Do not use DriveFive to break the law, infringe someone else's rights, collect or disclose information without authority, distribute malicious software, interfere with the website or app, or bypass access controls. Security research and other activities that applicable law expressly permits are not prohibited merely by this clause.
Nothing in these terms prohibits an honest review, criticism, a report to a regulator, lawful comparison or the exercise of consumer rights.
11. Availability, testing and updates
#The app is currently offered through Android closed testing; access depends on the relevant Google Play test arrangements. Test builds may contain defects or change before a wider release. Keep an independent backup of records that matter to you.
We may release updates or change or discontinue features for technical, security, legal or operational reasons. We do not promise support for every device, vehicle connection or future Android release. Where reasonably practicable, we will give advance notice of a material service change and an opportunity to export records. Urgent security or legal changes may take effect sooner. Any mandatory notice, refund or other rights under law remain unaffected.
12. Warranties and liability
#Your non-waivable legal rights take priority over this section. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the app, website and guide are provided on an “as available” basis, without additional promises that they will meet every requirement, always be available or be free of errors. We do not exclude any warranty, condition, duty or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the publisher is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including indirect loss of profits or business opportunities, arising from use of or inability to use DriveFive. This exclusion does not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
These terms do not set a zero-dollar liability limit merely because the app is free, shorten a statutory limitation period, or make you responsible for our own unlawful conduct. Direct losses and other claims remain subject to applicable law.
13. Ending use
#You may stop using DriveFive at any time. Export or back up records you want to keep before clearing app data or uninstalling. We may end permission to use the app or restrict website access for a material breach of these terms, unlawful conduct or a serious security risk, subject to applicable law. Where appropriate, we will provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to address a breach.
Ending use does not transfer ownership of your records to us or waive rights and obligations that have already arisen. Provisions concerning ownership, lawful limitations and dispute rights continue only to the extent relevant and permitted by law.
14. BC law, Canadian law and your rights
#These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, subject to any mandatory laws and consumer protections that apply where you live. This choice does not deprive you of protections that cannot be waived.
You may contact hellodrivefive@gmail.com to try to resolve a concern, but contacting us first is not a condition of seeking a legal remedy. You may bring a matter before any court, tribunal or regulator with lawful jurisdiction. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration, waive class-proceeding rights or prevent a complaint to a regulator.
Where applicable, your rights under British Columbia's Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act and other mandatory provincial, territorial or federal laws are preserved. If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, it is ineffective to that extent, and the remaining provisions continue only insofar as permitted by law.
15. Changes and contact
#We may revise these terms as DriveFive changes. The revised version will show an updated date. Material changes will be brought to your attention with reasonable notice, and express agreement will be requested where required by law. Changes apply prospectively; they do not rewrite earlier events or remove rights that have already arisen. Posting an update does not by itself establish that you accepted it.
You can save or print this page for your records. Questions about these terms can be sent to DriveFive, Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada, at hellodrivefive@gmail.com.
